NLSD students prepare for skills competition
Three students from Crossroads Outreach School are among the hundreds of high school students who will test their skills in the trades and technology at next week’s North East Regional Skills Canada Competition.
Terel LaRose, Jarrett Pruden and Riley Patenaude will be taking part in the welding competition using skills they learned in NLSD’s Mobile Trades Lab, which has been providing programming to students in the Lac La Biche region this year. The students from Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement spend one day a week at the lab, learning about welding and plasma cutting from Instructor George Berland.
